About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and hands-on Event Operations & Logistics Coordinator to join the team at Adelaide Showground. Reporting to the Venue Catering Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating operational logistics, site set up and event delivery across corporate functions and large-scale events.

This position is primarily operational and hands on, with some office-based administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring events are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high operational standard, while acting as a client-facing representative and Duty Manager during events.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Coordinate and oversee the set up and pack down of mobile and fixed catering/event sites.
  • Manage on-site event operations and act as Duty Manager during functions and events.
  • Provide a professional and responsive client-facing presence throughout event delivery.
  • Coordinate operational logistics to ensure smooth execution across multiple event spaces.
  • Order, manage and distribute stock, equipment and event supplies.
  • Support operational planning and resource allocation for event requirements.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently where required.
  • Lead and support casual event staff and operational teams on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety standards and general WHS requirements.
  • Monitor site presentation, operational readiness and service standards during events.
  • Assist with administration tasks including stock reporting, event documentation and operational checklists.
  • Work collaboratively with catering, logistics and venue teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and event execution processes.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive and organised operations professional with strong event logistics experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You will also have:

  • Previous experience in event operations, logistics or hospitality coordination.
  • Proven experience managing on-site event execution and operational set up.
  • Strong customer service and client-facing communication skills.
  • Current Forklift Licence (or willing to obtain).
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) Certificate (or willing to obtain).
  • Strong knowledge of food safety principles and workplace health & safety practices.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and problem-solve under pressure.
  • Experience coordinating stock control and logistics operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and support event staff.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
