About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Beverage Manager to join our team at Suncorp Stadium. This hands-on role supports the delivery of exceptional beverage services across corporate events, VIP functions, and hospitality areas. You will work closely with the Corporate Hospitality Manager to ensure smooth operations, efficient service, and compliance with liquor licensing and RSA requirements.

You will supervise beverage teams, assist with stock and inventory management, and ensure beverage service meets O’Brien Group standards while delivering a premium guest experience. This is a fast-paced, client-focused role perfect for an organised, proactive hospitality professional with strong leadership skills.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with ordering, stock control, and reconciliation of beverage inventory.
  • Supervise and support beverage teams during events to maintain service standards.
  • Prepare beverage service areas, including kegs, cellar, and storage areas.
  • Ensure compliance with RSA, liquor licensing, and company policies.
  • Support planning and coordination of beverage services for corporate and VIP events.
  • Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and workplace safety in all beverage areas.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues efficiently to minimise service disruptions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to align operations with event schedules.
  • Support staff training and development to ensure consistent service delivery.

 

About You

You are an experienced hospitality professional with a strong knowledge of beverage service standards and a passion for delivering high-quality guest experiences. You thrive in dynamic event environments, enjoy leading teams, and are confident managing operational and client-focused priorities. You are organised, proactive, and solutions-focused, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

 

Skills & Experience include:

  • Proven experience in beverage operations, bar supervision, or assistant management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of beverage service, liquor compliance, and venue operations.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
  • Experience supervising and leading teams in high-volume environments.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Experience with stock ordering, inventory management, and wastage control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and operational reporting (highly regarded).
  • Experience in stadiums, events, or large-scale venues (highly desirable).
