About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Staffing Coordinator to join the O'Brien Group Australia Team at People First Stadium. Reporting to the Venue Manager, the Staffing Coordinator is responsible for Retail and Corporate rostering, recruitment, and casual staff development.
Key duties include:
Recruitment, Rostering and Payroll
- Work with Corporate, Kitchen and Retail teams to identify casual staff requirements, roster schedule and future opportunities.
- Proactively develop mutual, year-round engagement with the casual staff through regular contact, keeping them up to date with company news and initiatives, future opportunities, skill development and training, and obtaining feedback and suggestions.
- Conduct regular staffing recruitments to ensure the data base is able to satisfy all positions required and ensuring all staff complete relevant paperwork and onboarding.
- Work collaboratively with Human Resources Department to coordinate the induction and further training of casual staff.
- Work collaboratively with Payroll Department to manage labour reporting.
- Role-specific data entry including staff database management, rostering, timesheet approvals, uniform ordering and stocktaking, and invoice processing.
- Manage all components of staffing for major events, functions and day-to-day operations, including staff rostering, event paperwork coordination, check-in and check-out of staff, labour hire coordination and uniform management.
Additional Tasks
- Assist in the corporate department including preparation and execution of functions, coordination of third party suppliers and contractors, and departmental support during major events.
- In conjunction with other full-time staff, manage any incoming office phone calls and action accordingly.
- End-of-month invoice management across all departments.
- Assist departments with any reasonable administrative duty request.
- Assist any other reasonable request required by the Venue Catering Manager.
- Adhere to all appropriate O’Brien Group Policies and Procedures, including Workplace Health and Safety across your department.
- Provide a supporting role at other Queensland O’Brien Group Australia venues for major events when requested.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a background in the hospitality industry and primarily in a similar-sized venue/stadium where organisation and time management are key. You will have experience in coordinating a large pool of casual staff and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills as well as attention to detail.
- A great deal of organisation and planning skills, and the ability to work with all members across both the Retail and Corporate departments.
- Previous experience in Staffing Roles or similar.
- Previous experience with a rostering platform (preferred).
- Previous experience in recruitment and training (preferred).
This full-time position operates Monday to Friday and includes on-site coordination for event and game days. As a result, some weekend and evening work will be required based on event schedules, requiring flexibility with work hours.
